Red Light Camera Study

Six Abilene intersections will be studied as potential sites for cameras to be installed to target, catch and ticket motorists for running red lights. In addition to looking into the possible placement of red-light cameras, the $20,000 study will evaluate other ways to improve safety at the selected intersections, including signal visibility, pavement conditions, lane markings, crosswalk markings, signal timing, red-light violation rates, and enforcement and operational issues.
