Daniel Youngblood

Sports Writer

Daniel Youngblood is in his second year as a sports writer with the Reporter-News. A third-generation sports journalist, Daniel graduated from Baylor University with a journalism degree in the May 2007, and he joined the Reporter-News staff in June of that year.

Daniel married Jessica Sholty on June 28, 2008, completing a family that began when he adopted a Jack Russell Terrior named Angus, and a cat called Nigel. Daniel, the son of Yale and Susan Youngblood, has two brothers (Matt and Aaron) and a sister, Hannah.

Daniel spends what little free time he has watching/playing sports, listening to music and purchasing DVDs. He's a die-hard Texas Rangers fan and a lifelong supporter of Baylor athletics who is tired of learning new and increasingly painful lessons in humility and is hoping his patience with both the Rangers and Bears one day pays off.
