Purdue graduation for Lauren Hyman (center), granddaughter of Gerald and Wanda Coppedge of Abilene and daughter of Marty (left) and Kim Hyman (right). Also attending the graduation were grandsons Ian (second from left), a sophomore at Purdue, and David (third from left), a senior at Wheeler High School in Indiana. Among the honors Lauren received were Dean’s List, Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Academic All-American. She was also one of only 14 to receive the Distinguished Scholar Athlete award, and the only senior swimmer.

Loren Eaton celebrated her 23rd birthday May 29 in Namibia, Africa, where she is a Peace Corps teacher. She holds one of six puppies born to a stray dog adopted by Loren and her roommate, Katie. Loren is a 2007 graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University and the daughter of Lee and Kay Eaton of Rowlett. Her grandparents are Jim and Marget Eaton of Abilene.
