SuddenLink Summer Shoot-Out benefits United Way

SuddenLink Communications recently contributed $2,190 to the United Way of Abilene, representing donations for a 46-inch HD television awarded Aug. 21 at the conclusion of the SuddenLink Summer Shoot-Out golf scramble.

Dixie Bassett, president and CEO of the United Way of Abilene, drew the winning ticket, which belonged to Adelina Martinez of Snyder, according to a news release.

Tickets for the grand prize at the SuddenLink Media Summer Shoot-Out were purchased over a 13-week period at Diamondback Golf Club and SuddenLink locations in Abilene, Snyder and Sweetwater.

“We are very pleased to be able to contribute these funds to the United Way of Abilene, thanks to the generous support of those who purchased tickets,” said SuddenLink director of Business Operations Jason Gebhart. “We look forward to continuing our support of the United Way with a bigger and better event next year.” “It is such an honor to work with great companies like SuddenLink,” said Bassett. “Not only do the employees individually invest in our community, they exemplify ‘live united’ with their willingness to volunteer whenever there is a need. Thank you, SuddenLink, for helping us stay connected to our world while focusing on helping our neighbors here at home.”
