Role models chosen for men’s style show

The Regional Crime Victim Crisis Center has selected 24 local men to recognize as positive role models for young people during RCVCC’s “Men of Strength & Style” luncheon and men’s fashion show to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Abilene Country Club.

The annual event celebrates men in our community who have displayed strength of good character, whose strength has made a positive impact in our community and who are positive role models in their work and in their life. The men will show off new abilities as fashion models during the luncheon program, courtesy of Dillard’s, as they walk the runway at the Abilene Country Club. This year’s honorees are:

Rob Beckham; Ron Butler; Capt. Eddie Chrane; Sr. Trooper Sparky Dean; Tech Sgt. Chris Ellis; Kyle Frush; Ed Greenlee; Rev. Jeff Hatcher; Petty Hunter; Col. Gavin Ketchen; Dr. Austin King; Danny Kittley; Damon Lane; Chief Melvin Martin; Bill Mills; Kevin New; Tom O’Neil; Victor Sotelo; Steve Stovall; Joe Tauer; Randy Turner; Judd White; Anthony Williams; Mark Young

Rep. Susan King and Casey Hatcher, daughter of the late Det. Jay Hatcher (an RCVCC founder), will also be present.

RCVCC’s “Men of Strength & Style” is designed to draw attention to the agency’s mission of assisting victims and survivors of violent crime and working to prevent violence. RCVCC staff and volunteers assisted about 1,200 adult and child victims of violent crimes in the Abilene region last year, and presented anti-violence education programs to nearly 5,000 students in area schools.

Sponsorships are available, and a limited number of individual tickets are available for purchase. The deadline is Oct. 15. Tickets and sponsorships may be purchased at www.regionalcrime.org or by calling RCVCC at (325) 677-7895.
