Meals on Wheels Plus Inc. will hold it’s 4th Annual Sporting Clays Classic on Saturday at Abilene Clay Sports, 1102 Beltway South in Abilene.

Shoot times are at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Fees are $145. Contact Betty Bradley, executive director, at (325) 672-5050 if you are interested in being a sponsor and entering shooters free of charge.

Each shooter will receive 100 targets, a continental breakfast, one raffle ticket for a Winchester Select Energy Sporting 12 Gauge Over/Under Shotgun, a T-shirt and lunch sponsored by Sharon’s Barbecue and Catering.

Eleven Fausti Field II, 12 Gauge Over/Under Shotguns will be awarded, one to the best lady shooter, and to the best youth 16 and younger shooter and nine by Lewis Class Scoring.

Raffle tickets are available for $10 each or three for $25. The drawing will be held Sept. 27, and participants do not need to be present to win. Tickets are available at Meals on Wheels.

Side events will also be available. In McCarty Equipment Company’s “Crazy Bird,” the cost will be $10 for 10 targets, and tickets for each broken clay will be entered in a drawing for a Fausti Field II, 20 gauge over/under shotgun. In “30 Bird Flush,” two person teams will pay $20 for 30 clays, with the high score winning two cases of shotgun shells.

A gold and white, male American Brittany puppy will be given away in a silent auction. Bids can be called in, and participants do not need to be present to win.
