Abilene Police Report: Men arrested for assault, DWI

On Sunday, at about 2:10 p.m., Officer Ricky Carroll was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 1500 block of North 15th Street. According to the victim, the suspect, a 20-year-old Hispanic male, had struck her in the face and pulled her hair during an argument. The suspect refused to leave the residence and was arrested for Assault/Family Violence.

Later, at about 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Officer Jimmy Woods was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 800 block of Mulberry Street. Officer Woods stopped a vehicle leaving the scene and found the driver, a 45-year-old white male, to be intoxicated. The suspect was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and he provided a breath sample that was more than double the legal limit of .08. Based on previous convictions, the suspect was booked into the Taylor County Jail for 3rd degree felony DWI.

Let's hope that this guy doesn't get off so easily this time. Seems like he can't learn from his mistakes.

Officer Jimmy Woods in my opinion is one of the best officers APD has, Good job APD lets keep the streets safe!
