Free cancer screenings
Free prostate cancer screenings will be provided Sept. 17 at the office of Dr. Robert Pelfrey, 1665 Antilley Rd., Suite 240.
The screening will include a PSA blood test and a digital rectal exam.
Space is limited and reservations are required. For reservations, call (325) 793-5102.
Support group for children dealing with loss
Rainbows, a six-week support group held by Hendrick Hospice Care for children who have suffered a loss, will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. every Tuesday from Sept. 16 to Oct. 16 at Southern Hills Church of Christ, 3666 Buffalo Gap Rd.
Rainbows is open to children in kindergarten through 12th grade who have suffered loss through death, divorce, separation or deployment. The six-week session also includes a peer support group for parents or guardians of Rainbows participants.
The support groups are offered free of charge.

Little super heroes
Abilene Performing Arts Company’s Fusion Dance will offer kids ages 3 to 8 a super heroes’ night out from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the APAC, 1049 Industrial Blvd.
Participants will learn crime fighting moves, act out scenes from super hero cartoon clips, make crafts and learn a super hero dance.
The program is designed to give parents a night out. The cost is $25.
