Closing arguments to begin in Coleman murder trial

Closing arguments begin at 9 a.m. today in the murder trial of 24-year-old Charles Yarbrough in the 42nd District Court in Coleman.

Judge John Weeks dismissed the jury until this morning after the defense rested Thursday afternoon.

Yarbrough was charged with capital murder in connection with the 2006 death of his 15-month-old foster daughter Lacey Lynn Nichols.

Earlier this week, KTXS-TV reported that prosecutors maintained that Lacey died of blunt force trauma to the head, while the defense said the child suffered prior injuries when Yarbrough was not present.
