Graduation dinner: Project Graduation Brisket Dinner will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Anson Elementary School cafeteria. The cost will be $6 for adults and $4 for children under 11.
BANGS
Benefit Bingo: A special game of Bingo benefiting Mary Harris, the daughter of Phyllis McGlothlin, will be included among several games of bingo beginning at 7 p.m. Friday at the American Legion Lynn Snow Post 308 at 205 W. Hall St. in Bangs.
Harris is on a waiting list for a heart and lung transplant. Proceeds from one game will go toward medical expenses.
DE LEON
Homecoming honors: Several De Leon High School students were honored during its recent homecoming festivities. They are: Homecoming Queen -- Latisha Abbey; Homecoming King -- Pedro Calzada; Coming Home Queen -- Sherlean Frost; Football Sweetheart -- Jessica Flores; Band Sweetheart -- Catalina Gonzales; Band Beau -- Vint Ramirez; FCCLA Sweetheart -- Libby Gilder; and FFA Sweetheart -- Latisha Abbey.
RULE
4-H officers: The Rule 4-H Club recently elected its officers for 2008-09. They are: president Jenny Dudensing, vice president Molly Dudensing, secretary Allison Petty, treasurer Kate Rowan, reporter Grace Burgess, membership chairmen Shelby Star and Sarah Campbell and refreshment chairmen Nick Johnson and Samantha Lewis.
SAN ANGELO
Conference: The Texas Midwest Community Network 15th Annual Conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 15 at the San Angelo Convention Center. It will include seminars, special interest sessions, entertainment, a silent auction, a luncheon, meetings and more.
There will also be an early arrival event, Fiddle Fire, with a chuck-wagon dinner and entertainment, at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at Fort Concho.
Preregistration by Friday is $35 for individuals or $30 per person for members of a group of at least five. Walk-in registration is $40 per person. Fiddle Fire is $25 per person, and preregistration is required. Online registration is available at TexasMidwest.org. For more information, call (325) 795-8626.
