Texas Tech

Former Abilene High School standout Lyle Leong had his best game of 2008 on Saturday in the Red Raiders' 58-28 victory over Kansas State. Leong caught three passes -- all for touchdowns -- for 23 yards. Another former Eagle, quarterback Taylor Potts completed four of nine passes for 36 yards in relief of record-setting QB Graham Harrell.

Texas

Coach Mack Brown's wife, Sally Brown, missed Saturday's game against Colorado after breaking her right arm and suffering a gash to her head when she tripped while descending a Boulder-area mountain trail Saturday morning.

Baylor

Coach Art Briles said he does not think Oklahoma's speed was a big factor in the Sooners' 49-17 defeat of the Bears. "I think we were prepared well on both sides of the ball with the tempo part of the game. I do think that there was a little bit of an open date lay over early on in the game ... but that certainly is not an excuse. We should have anticipated a little bit better on the speed aspect of the game early on from a coaching standpoint."

Texas A&M

Texas A&M senior Stephen McGee was named as one of 30 candidates on Monday for the inaugural Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in football. To be eligible, students must show achievement in the classroom, with their personal character, in the community, and on the field.
