O.J. Simpson found guilty

LAS VEGAS -- O.J. Simpson, who went from American sports idol to celebrity-in-exile after he was acquitted of murder in 1995, was found guilty Friday of robbing two sports-memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room.

Simpson, 61, could go to prison for life.

A weary and somber Simpson released a heavy sigh as the charges were read by the clerk in Clark County District Court. He was immediately taken into custody.

The Hall of Fame football star was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 12 other charges for gathering up five men a year ago and storming into a room at a hotel-casino, where the group seized several game balls, plaques and photos. Prosecutors said two of the men with him were armed; one of them said Simpson asked him to bring a gun.

Simpson's co-defendant, Clarence "C.J." Stewart, 54, also was convicted on all charges.

The verdict came 13 years to the day after Simpson was cleared of murdering his ex-wife and a friend of hers in Los Angeles in one of the most sensational trials of the 20th century.

Do you realize what an idiot you have to be to get away with murder and then blow it?

LOL! What an idiot. Thought he was above the law, got away with 2 murders, never paid a dime (voluntarily) to the family members, always struttin' around with an "I actually got away with it" smile on his face AND wrote a book, literally confessing to the killing of Nicole and Ron. You got what you deserve oj, have a wonderful time in prison. Oh, and being found guilty on the 13th anniversary (to the day) that he was aquitted of the murders, haha!

I am a believe in the "what goes around comes around". Hope OJ knows how to fend for himself.

What bothers me is this: Why is this article in the sports section?. Seriously folks. OJ Simpson hasn't had anything to do with actual sports in over 20 years. Put it in the National News part. It IS news when a celebrity is finally convicted and punished, instead of a slap on the wrist.

Yep..shoulda charged him with stupidity...Hopefuly they will pull an Al Capone and put him away for life on this when he got away with murder already...Honestly...Its a relief to finally have him locked up.

Justice may have been delayed, but not denied. He has detiorated into a broken down, old tired shell of himself. Maybe Nicole Simpson and Ron Brown can finally rest in peace. He will most certainly be "Bunkin with Bubba".

maggie, the sad part is bubba will never even see O.J.. They will have him in protective custody and other than the chance a guard shanks him he is safe.

Nmdad, I know you're right. He is the prime example of the "Entitlement Mentaliity, which is so prevalent with today's athletes. I had a roomate in college who was from Buffalo and he told me OJ was using drugs bigtime 40 years ago. I have a fraternity brother who saw OJ get high as kite many times in South Florida. He has been a slime ball for most of his life. Being a world class athlete, he always had someone to clean up his messes for him. Not anymore. I know his latest attorney and I don't understand why he took that case. I mean Yale Galanter is a big time trial attorney and I guess he did it for the press.
