Reunion: A luncheon for the Cooper High School class of 1998 will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 11 at the CHS cafeteria. The luncheon will be Bring Your Own Sack Lunch.

Author speaks: Mike Cox, who has written about the Texas Rangers and Texas history, will speak, answer questions, sign books and visit beginning at 7 p.m. Monday at the Cross Plains Community Center. JONES COUNTY

Pecans: Jones County 4-H members will sell Durham Ellis Pecans again this year as a fundraiser so that members may attend leadership camps and participate in other club projects.

OLD GLORY

Seniors dance: A Senior Citizens Dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the Old Glory Community Center. Herman Hearn and the Yellow Jackets will perform. Refreshments will be provided.

SNYDER

Temporary closure: The Scurry County Museum will be closed until February as the permanent gallery is remodeled.

The remodeling was funded by a grant of $71,295 from the Institute of Museum and Library services. The new bilingual exhibit will highlight people's use of the land and their lives.

The museum building, on the campus of Western Texas College, will be open during the remodeling, and visitors will be welcome in the gift shop.

STAMFORD

Adult education: Enrollment for Stamford Adult Education Programs will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Wetherbee School Campus at 301 S. Wetherbee in Stamford. For more information, call Gwen Baker at (325) 370-3549.
