A woman reported that an unknown suspect slipped the lock of a door to her residence to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect stole $500 in assorted change and $5,500 worth of jewelry. Because some of the jewelry pieces were custom made, the case has been forwarded to a detective for further investigation.

An employee of a local car dealership reported that a vehicle had been taken of the lot and had not been returned.

A woman reported $5,500 worth of water damage to her vacant rental property. According to the incident report, the damage was "blatant" vandalism. The victim is willing to press charges.

• Forgery, 400 block of Pecan Street, Tuesday

A man reported that an unknown subject had passed forged checks in his name.

• Forgery, 4300 block of Southwest Drive, Wednesday

Forged checks on a closed account were cashed at the victim's business by a known suspect.
