Paul Cannon announced as new advisory director
First Financial Trust & Asset Management Company N.A. recently announced the election of Abilene attorney Paul L. Cannon as an advisory director of the company. Cannon is replacing retiring director, Michael C. Waters, senior consultant to Hendrick Health Systems, who has served on the board since 2004.
Cannon, a graduate of Baylor University and Baylor University School of Law, is a corporate and banking attorney and a shareholder with McMahon Surovik Suttle P.C. He is a life member of the Texas Bar Foundation, served on the board of the Texas Young Lawyers Association from 1989 to 1991 and is a past president of the Abilene Young Lawyers Association by which he was named a co-recipient of the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award in 1990. Cannon chairs the Community Foundation of Abilene board, is a past board chairman of the Abilene Industrial Foundation, the city of Abilene Planning and Zoning Commission, The United Way of Abilene, the YMCA of Abilene and the Abilene Center for Nonprofit Management.
Promotions at Abilene Regional Medical Center
Emma Krabill has been promoted from director of wound care at Abilene Regional Medical Center to administrative specialist for community health systems.
Emma Krabill joined the Wound Care Center when it first opened in November 1999 and became director in 2002, where she remained for five years. Before that, she worked in physical therapy at Abilene Regional for six years.
Krabill serves on the board of directors for the Alliance for Women and Children and is also on the board for Texas Midwest Healthcare Executives. She is an active member of the AAUW and the AAWM and a graduate of Leadership Abilene. Krabill has an A.S. in physical therapy from Amarillo College. While working at ARMC, she received a B.A. in biology from Hardin-Simmons University and later obtained her MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Belinda Rhodes is replacing Krabill as the director of the Wound Care and HBO Center, having most recently served as a charge nurse in the Abilene Regional Medical Center Emergency Room.
Active in medical services around Abilene for over 10 years, Rhodes is a licensed paramedic and has numerous additional certifications. Rhodes has a bachelor of science in nursing from McMurry University in coordination with the Abilene Intercollegiate School of Nursing.
Love elected to board of PFEEF
Jerry L. Love, CPA, was recently elected to the board of trustees of the Personal Finance Employee Education Foundation. Love is president and CEO of Davis, Kinard & Co. PC, an Abilene-based accounting firm.
The PFEEF is a nonprofit scientific organization that advocates practices in workplace financial programs that increase employee financial health and employer profits.
Bennie Jones in Texas Leader Round Table
Bennie R. Jones, a life insurance professional, has qualified for 2008 membership in the Texas Leaders Round Table, an honor organization affiliated with NAIFA-Texas. He is also a member of the NAIFA-Abilene Association.
