The Liberty County Rebel Riders won their second consecutive precision drill team competition at the Texas State 4-H Horse Show.
The competition was today at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene.
Liberty County performed despite one of its members, Russell McPherson, losing both of his parents in a motorcycle wreck on Sunday.
Liberty County last year won both the drill and precision team events. The team finished second in this year's drill competition on Tuesday.
In the precision event, teams perform the same routine to the same music and dress in identical costumes.

I commend that young man's spirit to hold his head high and do what would have made his parents proud. What a great job the McPherson's have done with their son to enable him to make that decision. My heart hurts for Russell that his parents aren't able to witness his accomplishment today. I hope he can take comfort that they are looking down on him and are very proud of that young man and his team.
