Police and fire blotter 08.27.08

A woman, 20, reported that she was jumped by two other women after leaving a southside nightclub Sunday in the 200 block of Sycamore Street. A police officer apparently saw the woman getting assaulted and pulled one of the suspects off her. The victim, who suffered a black eye, cuts and scratches, claimed that the police officer told her to leave the scene and did not take a report.

Other incident reports released Tuesday by the Abilene Police Department:

n Burglary, 3500 block of Curry Lane, Monday

A bag containing military uniforms, toiletries, a laptop computer and several CDs was stolen from a car with open windows. The items were valued at $2,200.

n Criminal mischief, 1400 block of Butternut Street, Sunday

An unknown suspect damaged an awning to a restaurant, causing $1,000 worth of damage. The owner is willing to press charges.

n Theft, 500 block of North Judge Ely Boulevard, Sunday

The right front tire was stolen from a car. The victim reported that this theft is the second in two weeks. The tire was valued at $375.

n Criminal mischief, 5400 block of Texas Avenue, Sunday

A known suspect broke the left front window of a woman's car. Damage was estimated between $150 and $300.

n Burglary, 3100 block of Melinda Lane, Sunday

An unknown suspect entered the victims' home through an unlocked window with a box fan. Once inside, the suspects took the couple's wedding rings.

n Assault, 750 block of North Judge Ely Boulevard, Sunday

A man, 21, reported that a known suspect assaulted him. He did not want to press charges.

n Theft, 1300 block of Barrow Street, Sunday

A suspect was witnessed shoplifting miscellaneous food items from a local grocery store. The suspect was arrested after leaving the store without paying for $100 worth of food.

n Assault, 3300 block of Sherry Lane, Monday

A 54-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted with a knife by her boyfriend. The woman declined to press charges.

n Assault, 1700 block of North 1st Street, Monday

A man, 25, reported that another man assaulted him after he lit a woman's cigarette. The victim declined to press charges.

n Forgery, 4300 block of Sayles Boulevard, Monday

A waitress at a restaurant allegedly increased the amount of money two customers left her as a tip on their credit cards.
